Time to upgrade?

Replacing Your Old Heat Pump

Heat pumps are appliances with a limited lifespan. An older unit may no longer heat or cool effectively—especially in extreme weather.

  • Notice frequent defrost cycles?
  • Flashing lights on your indoor unit?
  • Reduced heat or cooling output?

While repairs are sometimes possible, investing in a new heat pump can reduce ongoing costs and comes with a 5- or 6-year warranty.

What’s Normal?

About Defrost Cycles

When outdoor temperatures drop, heat pumps enter a ‘defrost’ cycle to thaw the outdoor unit.

  • Lasts around 5 minutes.
  • Heat output pauses temporarily.
  • May cause a flashing LED and subtle popping or gassing noises.

This is normal and not a fault. Once complete, your unit resumes heating.
